We are looking for an exceptional analyst to join our growing team of climate and carbon market analysts, researchers and modellers.
We would love to hear from you if you have a strong interest in traded carbon markets. Candidates with work experience may come from financial journalism/reporting, consulting, or energy & financial market backgrounds.
You will likely have a high proficiency in Excel. Experience with Python (or R), PowerBI and/or SQL a plus. Apart from excellent technical capability, you will be passionate about improving the state of the natural world and addressing the challenge of climate change. You will be driven, a creative thinker and intellectually curious. You should be able to effectively manage your own time and be capable of communicating complex issues to colleagues and senior level audiences.

Responsibilities will include:
- Collection and presentation of data to produce market reports and research.
- Partnership building and ongoing relationship management of a variety of carbon market participants: traders, brokers, developers.
- Production of high-quality commentary and research on a variety of market topics.
- Working closely with other Trove Research teams, such as supply and forecasting, to further develop pricing products.
- Communicating insights via PowerPoint and Word reports, both internally and externally.
Qualifications and experience:
- Worked in financial, energy or commodities markets, economics, climate change or net zero.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies or a related field.
- Proficient in Excel with preferably 1-3 years of professional experience. Additionally, experience in Python (or R), VBA, PowerBI and/or SQL could be helpful but not required.

- Aware of what a carbon offset project is and how carbon credits are presently transacted.
- Understand how (or willingness and ability to quickly learn) carbon markets interact with wider energy, commodity and financial markets.
- Inquisitive and analytical, with a strong interest in both the present topics currently affecting carbon markets and their future development.
- A keen relationship builder, able to develop strong partnerships with a variety of market participants.
- A self-starter, with an ability to build a network across the carbon market whilst identifying and cultivating future partnerships.
- Able to identify key market trends based on available data and apply economic principles to extrapolate these trends.
- Have strong attention to detail, but also able to focus on the big picture and understand where you need to make pragmatic assumptions.
- Collaborate generously with your teammates but be effective at working on your own too.
- Are passionate and pragmatic about how the world can achieve net zero.
