Description
We are looking for a talented and motivated UK-based individual to drive our commercial function, as our existing Head of Commercial moves to the US to open and manage our new office there.
This is an executive leadership position, with responsibility for scaling the sales, account management & marketing engine, building a partner ecosystem, and owning all customer acquisition & revenue objectives. You should be a visionary and entrepreneurial leader who is able to identify and realise new business opportunities, including expanding into new customer segments, geographies and partnerships. You will manage and coach a passionate and highly talented commercial team, and work in a highly collaborative manner with staff across all other departments. Above all, you must be passionate about improving the state of the natural world and helping the private sector to address the challenge of climate change.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the running and development of Trove’s commercial department
- Develop and implement a clear commercial and go-to-market strategy
- Build relationships and partnerships with prospective and current clients
- Foster and execute new strategic partnerships and third-party distribution agreements
- Maintain an excellent understanding of Trove’s products and the latest developments in corporate climate action and the voluntary carbon market
- Stay well-connected with clients and actively monitor key competitors to ensure client needs and market dynamics are continually being reflected in Trove’s overall strategy
- Support the deployment of sales and account management best practices across the organisation, including within commercial operations and CRM management
- Drive contract negotiations with new or renewing clients, ensuring Trove’s best interests are appropriately protected
- Design and implement a company-wide marketing and branding strategy
- Help deliver regular high quality client communications, marketing campaigns and ongoing website content management
- Manage and coach our highly talented commercial team
- Work closely with other members of Trove’s executive team to deliver Trove’s overall business goals and strategy.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ work experience in commercial roles
- Proven work track record as commercial leader within a B2B business – preferably either a SaaS or data or sustainability business
- Proven ability to grow business revenues through sales, account management, marketing, branding and strategic partnerships
- Significant experience in managing and negotiating client and/or partner relationships
- Significant general management and P&L experience
- You will be a compelling communicator and able to convey executive presence with internal and external audiences, including the leadership team, customers and partners.
- Autonomous, hands-on problem solver; creative thinker; entrepreneurial spirit
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-changing business
- Organised and independent manager; experienced and caring people manager
- Degree in Economics, Engineering, Geography, Data Analysis, Sustainability or a related area
- Passionate about supporting the private sector to transition to a net zero world
