Elyas Helmke. Elyas completed his MSc in Climate Change, Management and Finance at Imperial College Business School in August 2020. Prior to this, he completed a BSc in Geography and Economics at the LSE, graduating in summer 2019, with a focus on environmental and trade economics, microeconomics and econometrics. His academic research, including efficiency of carbon pricing mechanisms, private sector responses and investigation of negative emission technologies’ abatement potential, has been predominantly quantitative in nature, making extensive use of statistical methods, programming and data science.
Alongside his studies, Elyas has practically pursued his passion for sustainable finance and climate change solutions at a Berlin-based, sustainable investment family-office, analysing cleantech growth equity investments, and more recently as an external consultant for ERM, assessing the financial risks and opportunities from climate change to the mining and extractives industry.
