Dr Lucien Georgeson FRGS. Lucien’s career has spanned research, consultancy, and policy. Most recently, Lucien was a Policy Advisor with the Secretariat of the Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health, based at the University of Oxford, and a responsible business consultant with Impactical. His consultancy work has included sustainability strategy and communications, strategy development for a climate media organisation, patent and citation data collection and analysis, and research across a range of CSR, sustainability and social policy areas.
His academic research covered green economy transitions, SDG governance and monitoring, clean energy R&D, planetary health, and climate adaptation. He has published articles in leading journals including Nature, Nature Climate Change, and the Lancet, and presented his work at international conferences in the US, Germany, Sweden and the UK. His research has been featured over 100 times in international media including the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Time, and the New Scientist.
Lucien completed his PhD at the Department of Geography at University College London on measuring green economy transformations using transactional data. He also holds an MSc in Sustainable Environmental Management (University of Plymouth) and a BA in Modern Languages (University of Oxford). He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, an Honorary Research Fellow at UCL, and a contributing author to Working Group 2 of the Lancet Countdown on Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change.
