Senior GIS Analyst / Geospatial Carbon Analyst:

We are looking for exceptional GIS Analysts and Senior Analysts to join our growing team of climate and carbon market analysts.

We would love to hear from you if you have advanced GIS modelling capability and you are familiar with analysing vegetation and/or carbon stocks in the natural environment.

You will likely have a postgraduate degree in geography, environmental science or sustainability and/or professional experience as a GIS data scientist / analyst / developer. You will have a familiarity with and interest in academic work in this field, Google earth engine, ESA and related datasets.

As well as excellent technical capability, you will be a driven self-starter, able to manage your own time and be capable of communicating complex issues to colleagues and senior level audiences.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with our broader team to design and implement geospatial data solutions that provide deep insights into carbon offset projects around the world.
  • Analysing and monitoring carbon stocks and flows from natural assets at a global, national or local level.
  • Completing quantitative analysis on geospatial datasets.
  • Researching different geospatial solutions and techniques and applying them to Trove’s latest product objectives.
  • Communicating insights both internally and externally, including the occasional writing of deep dive reports.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master’s or PhD level qualification in climate science, geography, data science, or equivalent
  • Experience in using geospatial methods to analyse vegetation and/or carbon stocks
  • Experience working as a geospatial data scientist, GIS engineer, GIS developer, or similar
  • Comfortable using common GIS programmes / tools
  • Advanced proficiency in Python or R coding languages
  • Advanced data handling skills using cloud resources

Talent Acquisition Manager:

We have ambitious plans to grow our team, in particular in London, Bangalore and San Paolo. To help manage this growth we are looking to recruit a dedicated Talent Acquisition Manager, who will help us find, attract and hire top talent. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing start-up and take ownership for designing and running all aspects of our talent acquisition process.  

Your responsibilities will span our end-to-end recruitment process including: 

  • Identifying talent needs,  
  • Drafting job descriptions,  
  • Managing job adverts, 
  • Filtering applications,  
  • Conducting interviews,  
  • Issuing and negotiating new staff contracts 
  • New joiner onboarding 

You’ll also be expected to take a lead in doing even more than we already are doing in attracting diverse talent and ensuring an inclusive hiring process. Should there ever be a lull in our recruitment needs, you’ll be expected to help support on our more general HR and operational tasks and processes – we are still very much a start-up so it can be all hands-on deck at times! 

You will be an ideal candidate if:

Chief Technology Officer:

We are seeking a highly-skilled CTO over-see and drive technology decisions within the company, including managing a technology budget and making investments to align the company with its vision for its technological needs. You should be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and an expert in technological development. You will be part of the executive team, working directly under the CEO and will act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage full stack development team – hiring, and ongoing line management.
  • Enhance the current technology stack. This is currently based around AWS and the Microsoft technology suite, but new approaches are welcome providing they meet the business objectives.
  • Oversee hardware and server infrastructure and outsourcing arrangements.
  • Manage operations of the development team using an agile mind-set.
  • Track performance of the development and data team, encouraging innovation in data analysis and product development.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in building and scaling successful technology teams that support data-centric products.
  • Advanced technical skills covering testing, DevOps, MVP and API development.
  • Familiarity with building financial market data back office and UI systems.

Analysts / Senior analysts:

We are looking for exceptional analysts to join our growing team of climate and carbon market analysts, researchers and modellers. We are currently recruiting for a number of analyst and senior analyst positions, including in our corporate climate commitments and carbon credit pricing teams.

We would love to hear from you if you have advanced research and data handling / database skills. You will likely have a high proficiency in Excel, and experience with PowerBI, Python and/or SQL would be a bonus. Candidates with work experience may come from consulting, data science, energy market, or financial backgrounds.

As well as excellent technical capability, you will be passionate about improving the state of the natural world and addressing the challenge of climate change.  You will be driven, a creative thinker and intellectually curious. You should be able to effectively manage your own time and be capable of communicating complex issues to colleagues and senior level audiences.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Qualitative and quantitative research on corporate climate commitments and the voluntary carbon market.
  • Advanced data handling, and modelling using Excel, PowerBI, Python and/or SQL.
  • Working closely with colleagues in UK and India to continually advance the data and insights we provide to our subscription clients on corporate climate commitments and the voluntary carbon market.
  • Communicating insights both internally and externally, delivered to clients through monthly reporting, an online platform and consulting projects.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Geography, Economics, Politics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Worked in the public, private, or NGO sector relating to climate change, net zero, carbon markets or similar. And/or equivalent postgraduate experience in academia.
  • At the Senior Analyst level, we are looking for a combination of an academic track record with 2+ years of relevant work experience that shows responsibility for the delivery of reports, briefings, or other outputs.
  • Proficient in Excel, and some experience in Python, PowerBI and/or SQL.
  • Experience/knowledge across a range of climate policy issues, with the ability to extract insights and communicate complex issues to senior-level audiences.
  • Demonstrable enthusiasm for addressing climate change in the corporate sector.
